Estimation of Anisotropic Elastic Coefficients from Seismic Data

چکیده
In our attempt to better understand the elastic anisotropy in the subsurface, we have developed an algorithm in which elastic coefficients of an anisotropic media is estimated reflectivity data. To do this, we have implemented our in-house forward modeling algorithm ARTC along with Pseudo-linear iterative leastsquare optimization. Due to the complexity of the relationship between elastic coefficients and the reflectivity, the inverse kernel is calculated based on the sensitivity of the data to the elastic parameters. We applied this method to the various models with different anisotropic symmetries and analyzed.

The quest for anisotropic moveout
There is renewed interest in velocity anisotropy, and publications of researchers outside SEP describe various schemes for estimating anisotropic moveout from seismic data. However, those schemes often face problems in that they commit too early to a particular class of elastic models which may require auxiliary information not available from surface seismic data. In essence, they are model-dri...
متن کاملShear Waves Through Non Planar Interface Between Anisotropic Inhomogeneous and Visco-Elastic Half-Spaces
A problem of reflection and transmission of a plane shear wave incident at a corrugated interface between transversely isotropic inhomogeneous and visco-elastic half-spaces is investigated. Applying appropriate boundary conditions and using Rayleigh’s method of approximation expressions for reflection and transmission coefficients are obtained for the first and second order approximation of the...
متن کاملModeling of Fault Co-seismic Displacement Fields in Elastic Environments Based on Spherical Dislocation Theory
This research is based on the modeling of co-seismic deformations due to the fault movement in the elastic environments, and we can obtain the deformations generated in the faults. Here, modeling of the co-seismic displacement field is based on the analytical method with two spherical dislocation model and half-space dislocation model. The difference in displacement field from two spherical and...
متن کاملSeismic wave propagation in anisotropic ice – Part 1: Elasticity tensor and derived quantities from ice-core properties
A preferred orientation of the anisotropic ice crystals influences the viscosity of the ice bulk and the dynamic behaviour of glaciers and ice sheets. Knowledge about the distribution of crystal anisotropy is mainly provided by crystal orientation fabric (COF) data from ice cores. However, the developed anisotropic fabric influences not only the flow behaviour of ice but also the propagation of...
متن کاملEstimation of anisotropy parameters in application to Blackfoot seismic data
Anisotropy parameters are obtained by anisotropic velocity analysis performed on Blackfoot P-wave reflection-seismic data, in combination with sonic-log data. First, the line was processed with ProMAX seismic data-processing software using a sequence of conventional algorithms without taking anisotropy into account, in order to choose proper analysis points and horizons with confidence. Then, a...
